The Trans-Siberian Orchestra East band arrived in Allentown, PA, delivering its visually stunning rock opera at the PPL Center on Friday, November 21. Illuminate Drones was a key part of the production, successfully executing the demanding dual-segment indoor drone light show for the local audience.

The integration of an advanced indoor drone show into a busy arena like the PPL Center requires consistent performance and technical coordination. Our system executed two signature light segments during the second half of the TSO concert.

Segment One: Dozens of Drones for "Dream of Candlelight"

Our first contribution created a sweeping visual backdrop for the song "Dream of Candlelight." We utilized a fleet of dozens of drones, which ascended to fly high over front of house, creating a large visual element over the audience.

This indoor drone light show generated synchronized drone show designs, adding a layer of expansive, moving light to the stage. The dozens of drones moved as a single entity, crafting light designs that perfectly supported the emotional focus of the single live vocalist in the PPL Center.

Segment Two: High-Energy Drones for "Wish Liszt"

Approximately 25 minutes later, the performance shifted to high gear with the intense drone light show for the instrumental track "Wish Liszt (Toy Shop Madness)." This segment is engineered for speed and dynamic interaction.

As two guitarists were raised on a stage lift, our dozens of drones executed complex, high-speed flight patterns around the platform. A key technical feature was the precisely controlled flying that took the drones underneath the operating lift as the musicians played. This level of close-quarters operation ensures the indoor drone show is a fully integrated, powerful visual element of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra performance.
