Indoor Drone Show Company: What to Look For Before You Hire

Updated: 1 day ago

Most drone show companies fly outdoors. Far fewer can fly indoors, over a seated audience, inside a venue with a ceiling and a crowd below. If you are hiring for an indoor event, that difference matters more than anything else on a vendor list, and it is not always obvious from a website. Here is what actually separates the companies that can do it.

Ask whether they have flown indoors, and where

An outdoor sky show and an indoor show are different jobs. Indoors there is a ceiling, rigging, lighting, and an audience directly underneath. Ask for specific indoor venues a company has flown in, and ask whether those were over a live crowd or an empty room. A company that has done it will name the rooms and the tours without hesitating.

Ask how the show is built for your room

An indoor show is designed around one specific space. Ceiling height, sightlines, the stage, and where the audience sits all shape what can fly and what it will look like from every seat. A company worth hiring will ask about your venue early and will want plans or a site visit rather than quoting a generic package.

Ask what the show will actually show

The point of a drone show is the moment in the air: your logo, a product, words, custom shapes, color timed to music. Ask to see examples of custom content built for other clients, not just stock formations. Ask who designs it, how many revisions you get, and how the show is timed to your run of show.

Ask about safety and the plan for flying over people

Flying above a live audience indoors is the part that requires real discipline. Ask how the company handles safety planning, what happens in a fault, and how they have handled it on past shows. A team that has flown indoors on a tour schedule will have a clear, practiced answer.

What we bring to an indoor show

Illuminate Drones flew the indoor drone show for the Trans-Siberian Orchestra across a full arena tour, performing over sold-out crowds night after night, plus indoor shows for Dude Perfect, OneRepublic, and Oracle NetSuite. Indoor is the core of what we do, and every show is designed for the specific room it flies in.

Talk to us about your event

If you are hiring an indoor drone show company, we would like to be on your list. See our indoor drone light shows, or request a quote for your event. Most indoor drone shows run between $20,000 and $50,000, with the most common around $25,000.
