The Trans-Siberian Orchestra West band arrived in Salt Lake City, UT, for dual performances at the Delta Center on Wednesday, November 19. Illuminate Drones delivered our signature dual-segment indoor drone light show, a major visual upgrade for the TSO rock opera.
Integrating an advanced indoor drone show into the large Delta Center arena requires precise technical planning and coordination with the venue's infrastructure. Our system executed two successful flight segments during both the matinee and evening shows.
Segment One: Dozens of Drones for "Dream of Candlelight"
During the second half of the concert, our first drone performance was for the powerful ballad "Dream of Candlelight." We utilized a fleet of dozens of drones, which ascended to fly high over front of house, creating a visual canopy above the audience.
This indoor drone light show generated sweeping, integrated drone show designs that added an ethereal layer to the stage performance. The dozens of drones moved seamlessly, forming elegant light designs that filled the height of the Delta Center, enhancing the emotional weight of this key Trans-Siberian Orchestra track.
Segment Two: High-Energy Drones for "Wish Liszt"
Approximately 25 minutes later, the action accelerated with the second, high-intensity drone light show during the instrumental "Wish Liszt (Toy Shop Madness)." This segment is designed for dynamic integration with the band.
As two guitarists played from an elevated lift, our dozens of drones executed complex, high-speed maneuvers around them. A significant technical detail at the Delta Center was the close-proximity flying, where the drones moved precisely underneath the operating lift as the musicians performed. This intense integration ensures the indoor drone show is a driving, high-impact component of the live show.
